Song of the Week: Lufia & the Fortress of Doom Town Theme

Lufia has the perfect town theme: happy and fun. That's why it's this week's "Song of the Week." We continue hope for the VC release of this most epic of RPGs.

Excellent choice for Song of the Week. I have a Town & City playlist and this song is on it.

Nostalgia overload when I clicked "play" on that song. One of my very earliest RPG experiences and I have that tune forever ingrained in my head.

Lufia has indeed been rated - and since sometime like last May - for a North American Virtual Console release, so with any luck, we should finally see the game released within this year. Though hopefully we won't have to wait for the Wii U to launch for the VC to properly revive again. Europe got the SNES version of Prince of Persia recently, at least, so perhaps we'll see that here soon enough too.

And for that matter, news stories have shown VC titles still getting rated by the ESRB for months now, so at this point, Nintendo should have a pretty decent stockpile to start releasing again anytime. There are too many good and great NES and SNES RPGs we're still missing, among other platforms.
